Guided by a Board of Directors that have nearly 400 years of combined experience in the airline and aviation industries, Braniff Airways Foundation is the definitive, official guiding entity in the preservation of the history and legacy of Braniff Airways, Inc. The Foundation, dating back to 1978, was formed by Richard Ben Cass to safeguard Braniff's vibrant history, and to generate endowments for his Braniff International Heritage Archives. Braniff International Heritage Archives houses the lifetime collection of Mr. Cass, including the original Braniff Airways departmental records and archives.

Founded in 1972, it has become one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Braniff memorabilia known to exist. The Archive includes:

  • 100 million pages of corporate materials and records

  • 40,000 collectible items

  • 500,000 photos, slides, and electronic images

  • large-scale Braniff company models

  • signage

  • 1000 crew uniforms

Braniff Airways Foundation was officially registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization in October 2015.
